Social Media Shifts As Reliable Sources Changed Consumer Behavior

The Annual Report 2011 released by GlobalWebIndex shows a shift in the use of social media which now shapes consumer trends. The use of social media is not just limited to getting connected with people but it has also become a vital medium to introduce products and share your interests among friends and contacts. Improving site contents and utilizing social media is now seen as an integral part to selling products, and PPC management companies such as Keyword Search Pros, are pushing for this to be part of the landing page design of every website.

An article from eMarketer points out that there is currently a shift, making content distribution a focal point of the use of social media. These days, social media users easily share professionally created content through social networks, blogs and video sharing platforms instead of creating their own. Product reviews from people you know and trust are also most likely to be picked up by others, accounting for 50% of the users worldwide who also show an increase of traffic from their contacts on social networks. The same group also showed an increase of 21% for blog sites. Because of this, companies that also utilize social media to extend their customer reach must see to it that they are using social networking sites, video sharing platforms and blog sites to their advantage by providing relevant information and replies to questions posted by clients.
